The cutting methods of the conical surface of the lathe are generally F/L:

When turning the conical surface whose cone length is less than the working stroke of the small slide plate, the cutting method of adjusting the angle of the small slide plate turntable to make the small slide plate feed obliquely is often used.


 (1) Operation steps of lathe The operation steps of turning the small slide plate cutting method are:


    1) The working stroke of the detection board should be greater than the length of the cone.


    2) Adjust the gap between the small slide rails. While shaking the handle of the small skateboard, adjust the looseness of the inserts, so that the small skateboard has a moderate degree of tightness and moves smoothly and evenly.


    3) The lathe is calibrated with the diameter of the large end of the cone or the diameter of the small end of the conical hole, leaving a margin, and rough turning it into a cylinder or a cylindrical hole.


    4) The lathe calculates the conical half angle a/2, which is the angle at which the small slide plate turntable rotates.


    5) Loosen the turntable nut under the small slide plate, follow the direction of the inner busbar of the workpiece cone, turn the turntable to the calculated scale of the half angle of the cone a/2, align it with the basic zero line, and then lock it.


    6) Rough turning and semi-finishing of the conical surface on the lathe, and leave enough machining allowance for finishing and inspection of the half angle of the cone a/2.


    7) Clamp the fine turning tool so that the tool tip is strictly aligned with the rotation center of the workpiece.


    8) Finish turning the conical surface, check the half angle of the cone at any time, and after the grinding is correct, the diameter, length, and surface roughness of the finishing turn all meet the technical requirements.


(2) The method of correcting the taper half angle before cutting In the cutting process, the calculated angle value of the taper half angle a/2 is generally not an integer on the lathe, plus the precision deviation of the small slide plate turntable. Therefore, it is impossible for the lathe to find the correct angle position when turning the turntable. Generally, the method of visual estimation is used to determine the general angle, and then during the cutting process, the half angle of the cone is adjusted through repeated debugging operations.
