The feeding route includes in-plane feeding and depth feeding. For in-plane feed, the outer contour cuts in from the tangent direction, and for concave contour cuts in from the arc.
On the CNC milling machine with two axis linkage, there are two methods of depth feed for milling plane slot cam:
1. One method is to mill back and forth in the XY or (YZ) plane and gradually feed to a given depth.
2. Another method is to drill a process hole first, and then feed the tool to a given depth from the process hole.
