The Control Method of Hole Spacing for Parallel Hole System of Lathe

Aug 02, 2022

There are three commonly used control methods for parallel hole spacing:

(1) Use the scribed line to control the hole distance, scribe the line on the surface of the workpiece, draw the hole center line and the hole machining reference circle at the lathe hole machining position, and proof and punch the hole on the center and the reference circle. Glue a pin on the boring bar, adjust the position of the table and the pin so that the revolving track of the pin coincides with the scribing position of the hole on the workpiece. Prefabricated holes, pre-check hole spacing. Adjust the worktable according to the difference until the hole spacing requirements of the pattern are met.

(2) Use the worktable dial to control the hole distance, and use the tool-touching method or the scribing method to preliminarily adjust the processing position of the hole, and grasp the direction of the gap between the table movement. Prefabricated holes, pre-check hole spacing. Use the dial to move the worktable to adjust the hole spacing according to the difference until the hole spacing requirements of the pattern are met.

(3) Use the indicator sheet and gauge block to control the hole distance and longitudinal control. When using the lathe gauge block to control the hole distance longitudinally, a parallel pad should be clamped on the longitudinal work table, and the side of the pad should be pre-aligned so that it is horizontal to the workbench. In parallel, place the measuring surface of the gauge block group equal to the hole distance against the side of the spacer block, and then move the worktable longitudinally so that the measuring head of the indicator meter touches the other side of the gauge block group, adjust the pointer of the indicator to the "0" position, and then remove it. For the gauge block group, adjust the longitudinal direction of the worktable so that the indicator probe and the side of the parallel pad contact the pointer position to "0". At this time, the lathe workbench moves longitudinally by a hole distance equal to the gauge block group. For lateral control, when using the gauge block group to control the hole distance laterally, the gauge block group is placed on the front end of the ground base of the worktable. The specific method is the same as that of the vertical control, but it should be noted that the indicator base cannot be loosened to avoid displacement errors.
