Selection of cutting conditions for common turning slender shafts

Aug 02, 2022

The adjustment of the cnc machine tool and the tool rest support claw and the contact between the tool rest support claw and the workpiece should be just right. Too loose and too tight are bad for cutting. Too loose refers to the large gap between the outer circle of the workpiece and the supporting claw. This is easy to make the workpiece jump, causing the knife to be cut when cutting. Over-tightening means that the support claw exerts too much pressure on the workpiece and pushes the workpiece to the side of the turning tool, so that the cutting depth of the turning tool is reduced as the feed moves away from the top, and the cutting performance of the workpiece is weakened and deepened, resulting in a reduction in the diameter of the workpiece to be cut. When the tool holder moves to the outer circle with the reduced diameter of the workpiece, under the force of the turning tool, the workpiece fork will make the turning tool. Decreasing the depth of cut results in an increased workpiece diameter fork. After many cycles in this way, the workpiece forms a slub shape.

1) Selection of turning tool angle

2) The blade material is Plo carbide

3) Cutting amount

4) It is suitable for turning smooth rods, lead screws and other slender shafts.
