Machined Surface Treatment

Jul 18, 2022

Electroplating is the most commonly used method of surface treatment, and its main purpose is for aesthetics and anti-corrosion; electroplating is to add another layer of metal to the metal surface, and the size of the workpiece surface will change accordingly. Add instructions such as "button coating" or "dimension in the drawing - after coating" on the drawing. The common types of electroplating are as follows:

l Tin plating - mainly iron tin plating, because iron does not eat tin very much, it is inconvenient to use tin to solder, this problem is solved after tin plating, but the rust prevention ability is not good (tin is easily oxidized, and oxidized It will turn black afterward, which is ugly).

l Nickel plating - The workpiece after nickel plating is very bright, more beautiful, and has strong rust resistance; it is not good to take iron directly to nickel plating! Because iron does not eat nickel very much, the container peels off after electroplating. Generally, it is better to plate a layer of copper on the surface of the iron before nickel plating... It can also shield the electric field and the magnetic field together (copper can shield the magnetic field, iron electric field can be shielded).
