Handboard Surface Treatment Process: Sand Blasting

Sand blasting is strictly a kind of skin texture, which is divided into concave and convex effects. The sandblasting of the hand mold is also powered by compressed air to form a high-speed jet beam to spray the materials (copper ore, quartz sand, carborundum, iron sand, sea sand) to the surface of the workpiece to be treated at a high speed, so that the appearance or shape of the workpiece surface changes. Due to the impact and cutting effect of the abrasive on the surface of the hand board workpiece, the surface of the hand board workpiece can obtain a certain degree of cleanliness and different roughness, and the mechanical properties of the hand board workpiece surface can be improved. Therefore, the fatigue resistance of the hand board workpiece is improved, the adhesion between it and the coating is increased, the durability of the coating is extended, and it is also conducive to the leveling and decoration of the coating.


According to different sandblasting methods, there are four classification methods:

1. Pressure blasting and suction blasting

2. Dry sand blasting and liquid sand blasting

3. Open sand blasting and box (room) sand blasting

4. Manual sand blasting and automatic sand blasting


Application of Sand Blasting for Mold Handboard

1. Sand blasting can remove all the dirt on the surface of the workpiece, such as rust scale, and establish a very important basic pattern (commonly called rough surface) on the surface of the workpiece. In addition, it can achieve different degrees of roughness by changing abrasives of different grain sizes. The workpiece needs to be sandblasted before coating and bonding. The bonding force of the hand plate workpiece with the coating and the plating material is greatly improved. Or the bonding parts can be bonded more firmly with better quality.

2. The cleaning, polishing and sandblasting of the rough surface of castings and forgings and the workpiece after heat treatment can clean all the dirt (such as oxide skin, oil stain and other residues) on the surface of castings and forgings and the workpiece after heat treatment, and polish the workpiece surface to improve the smoothness of the workpiece, so as to achieve the role of beautification and decoration.


3. Burr cleaning and surface beautification sandblasting of machined parts can clean the tiny burrs on the surface of the workpiece, make the surface of the workpiece more smooth, eliminate the harm of burrs, and improve the grade of the workpiece.

4. Improve the mechanical properties of parts After sandblasting, the mechanical parts can produce even and fine concave convex surfaces on the surface of the parts, so that the lubricating oil can be stored, thus improving the lubricating conditions, reducing noise and increasing the service life of the machinery.

5. Polishing function For some special purpose workpieces, sandblasting can achieve different reflections or matting at will.
