The steps for preparing a process specification are roughly as follows:
1) Read the product assembly drawings and parts drawings, understand the use, performance and working conditions of the product, and be familiar with the position and function of the parts in the product. Perform process analysis on the structure of lathe-related parts, including usability and manufacturing feasibility, find out the key technologies and operational difficulties in the manufacture of lathe parts, and determine solutions.
2) Determine the blank type and processing method, and draw a blank diagram if necessary.
3) Draw up the process route.
4) Determine the machining allowance, process size and manufacturing tolerance of each process of the lathe.
5) Determine the equipment and tools, fixtures, measuring tools and auxiliary tools used in each process, and propose a design and manufacturing task book for the special equipment that needs to be designed or modified for the lathe.
6) Select the cutting amount of the lathe and calculate the working hour quota.
7) Determine the technical requirements and inspection methods of the main processes of the lathe
8) Carry out the technical and economic analysis of the lathe and choose the best solution.
